How should we think about technological renewal? A seminar in Swedish in cooperation with Vinnova on 1 December 2008 in Stockholm.

The topic is “How should we think about technological renewal” and the context is the badly needed transformation to sustainability. The programme is a combination of moderated panel discussions and roundtable conversations among the audience. The conversations looked at the potentially conflicting needs for speed in innovation and better long-term risk management. The role of constructive partnership with policy makers was a key point.

Our aim was to generate a thoughtful discussion about how technology is an essential part of change, but not one that can be relied to solve the climate problem alone. An over reliance on technology to solve the climate challenge is a real danger in today’s technology-led, global society.
