Alagi M'bye is a jali from The Gambia who travelled to Tällberg in 2006 with a tale told to him by his grandfather. This is part one.

Jali is Mandinka for griot, a poetic storyteller. For the four days of the Forum, Alagi opened each day's plenary with an ongoing story of the difficulties we have solving problems. He blends poetry, fable, wisdom and plain old common sense with delicate plucking and picking on the kora. Alagi was joined by his friend Ale Möller.
