Al Gore in Göteborg
Ambassador Jan Eliasson and Bo Ekman greet Al Gore in Göteborg before he picks up yet another award.

2007 Nobel Peace Laureate and former US Vice President Al Gore came to Göteborg, Sweden last month to receive the Göteborg Award for Sustainable Development 2007 for his commitment as a communicator to world wide awareness of global warming. Before the evening’s stunning gala during which Eliasson and Gore spoke, Ekman and Gore participated in a seminar on sustainable development. Bo questioned the likelihood of the required success of the Copenhagen “Kyoto II” process given the track record, asking what do we do then? The Nobel Laureate said we have no choice, it must succeed.
