Each year the Tällberg Foundation awards a scholarship to a young musician from the region
of Dalarna. The winner is selected by the board of Dalarnas Spelmansförbund. Alexander Olsson
from Rättvik is this year’s recipient with the motivation:
”I fädrens anda är han en stark länk i en kedja av tradition
och nyskapande.”
”In the
spirit of the forefathers he is a strong link in a chain of tradition and
creativity.”
Alexander Olsson is 18 years and started playing the violin at 7 years of age. At the age of 13 he
started playing the violin with his father, Pers Hans, at home and they have played together ever since. They recently released an album together called Hemma Igen (Home again). Alexander is a high
